Amsterdam Fixed Gear on the map
Today was the best show up since we started our the Amsterdam Fixed Gear forum and getting the fixed gear scene united bit by bit. About 35 people showed up, which is unbelievable considering we started a small group just a few months ago. The messengers from Infinity Express have joined our evenings (and kicking our butt at bike polo), and every week more guys and girls show up which is a great thing! (Tonight we even had the pleasure of Malle-T joining the crew by showing us how Bike Polo is done!). AFG is about hanging out together and sharing the joys of life as a fixed gear rider...
Gijs and I are getting even more motivated by all the support and all the people showing up at the meetings. We are really psyched in getting the shop up and running to be able to give this scene the extra it deserves. Thanks to everyone for supporting us and making this an even more enjoyable experience and so being able to share the fun with all of you!(That sounded like a CocaCola commercial...but hey, you get the idea!)
The article on Fixed Gear in Amsterdam will be published in Het Parool this Tuesday (14th of Juli). Our thanks go out to Liedewij and her photographer for putting their interest in our life, hobby and work. Pictures will follow so keep en eye on this blog or Twitter (020fixedgear) and of course the AFG Forum.
Now it's time for some sleep, tomorrow more exciting stuff on Pristine Fixed Gear!

Where else but Amsterdam?
AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands - The bicycle is the means of transport used most often in Amsterdam. Between 2005 and 2007 people in the city used their bikes on average 0.87 times a day, compared to 0.84 for their cars. This is the first time that bicycle use exceeds car use.

Even the world's most expensive bike is Fixed
Well we see some fancy creations on the market but this beats it all. Not that I would ride on it.
Too expensive to scratch, too bling (is there such a thing as too much bling?) and couldn't afford it.
If you're one rich bastard riding fixed and want and something fancy in your category then this might be it.
Each bike is hand built, plated with 24 carat gold and hand-adorned with more than 600 Swarovski crystals. The only thing I miss are the pearls...
